The hotspot that’s seen pioneering organisations take shape and up-and-coming events spiral into full-fledged movements striving to transform Egypt’s job market, The GrEEK Campus has several surprises under its sleeve this season. From match-making cornerstone events such as the RiseUp Summit to game-changing gigs such as the Egypt Photo Summit, these six events will take downtown Cairo by storm these coming months.

Cairo Jazz Festival

From Panama-born trumpet wizards to wicked performances fusing Oriental music with jazz, the festival’s 8th edition will bring together the passion and talent of jazz performers from across 13 different countries. Kicking off this weekend, the event will bring three days of non-stop musical delight, engaging the social scene in a unique space that combines culture, entertainment, and education by the Nile.

The Greek Campus Gallery Exhibitions

With ongoing exhibitions and periodic art displays, the Greek Campus Gallery is the legitimate artsy arm of the tech hub. Set at the campus' Library Building ground floor, the art space is run by Galal Gomaa, a legendary sculptor, and painter who can frequently be seen crafting his intricate pieces live - fully immersed in his art - at the gallery itself. His series of metal sculptures are going to be exhibited until October 31st.

For more details and other exhibits, check out the Greek Campus' Facebook page.

Egypt Photo Summit

After being postponed in April, the long-awaited photo summit will span from November 11th to 18th, in a full-fledged “Photo Week” with live workshops and activities, introducing new topics such as 360 videos and kids photography. Speakers include celebrity street photographer Ahmed Hayman, fashion magician Batool Al Daawi, and newborn photographer Amani Ismail.

Cairo Media Summit

Starting on November 13th, the event will fuse high-profile talks, discussion panels, and networking meetings to connect pioneers in mobile, TV, film, VR, content creation, and VFX, as well as to bridge the gap between businesses and creatives. The conference will feature speakers such as Hesham Soliman, Producer and Chairman of Hama Film Productions, and El Adl Group’s own producer Mohamed El Adl.

Jobzella’s First Employment Fair

This ambitious job forum starting on December 3rd sets off to bring together some of Egypt’s biggest employers – from up-and-comers Ousta and Jumia to finance giants such as Banque Misr and Al Ahly Bank, or tech giants like Raya – with Cairo’s crowd of young applicants, thirsty for ways to connect. Rumour has it, several companies are planning to hire at the event itself, so applicants should come suited up, armed with a CV, and ready for a pop-up interview!

RiseUp Summit

After a whirlwind of an event that gathered 4,366 people last year, RiseUp Summit 2016 is set to kick off on December 9th under the theme ‘fusion’ in an attempt to trigger a chain reaction among entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, talents, and media from around the world. After the launch of their new services – RiseUp Connect, RiseUp Explore, and their now famous RiseUp Meetup – the restless team at the helm of this game-changing organisation is focusing this year’s three-day summit on business, technology, and creativity. They're bringing participants from across the Middle East and Africa through their ‘city caravans’, curated by a dedicated team that will design a special experience to maximize the participants' exposure, value, and connections.
