Tamer Hosny Becomes the First Egyptian to Have his Handprint at Hollywood's Iconic Chinese Theatre

In an unprecedented achievement, one of Egypt's favourite pop stars Tamer Hosny is set to have his handprint and footprint permanently engraved on the Forecourt of the Stars at Hollywood's iconic Chinese Theatre on August 9th, making him the first Arab to ever gain such an honour, according to Enigma Magazine.   

The ceremonial imprint event will be followed by a performance by Hosny himself, after which the there will be special screening of the pop star's latest movie Tesbah Ala Kheir (Good Night).

The Chinese Theatre was originally built in 1927 on Hollywood Boulevard by the American showman Sid Grauman, who decided to invest towards building the theatre after the tremendous success of the nearby Egyptian Theatre, which witnessed Hollywood's first ever film premier. Over almost 90 years, the Chinese Theatre has been established as one of the most recognisable landmarks in Hollywood, hosting a number of major events, including three Academy Awards ceremonies.

Tamer Hosny's handprint and footprint will be joining those of over 200 of Hollywood's biggest celebrities, including Merryl Streep, John Travolta and Michael Jackson.
