The World’s Most Powerful Startup Incubator Just Opened a Free Online School

Egyptian and Arab entrepreneurs rejoice, as Y Combinator - the Silicon Valley-based incubator behind mammoth startups such as Dropbox and Airbnb - is opening its Startup School for everyone, for free, through a massive open online course (MOOC), which features an exclusive line-up of industry leaders and entrepreneurs, who will guest lecture during the 10-week course.

Dubbed "the world's most powerful start-up incubator” by Fast Company, Y Combinator actually launches its Startup School every year, where entrepreneurs and students receive lessons from tech leaders, including Y Combinator graduates. Past editions, for example, have showcased speakers like Mark Zuckerberg and Pinterest CEO Ben Silbermann.

This year, participants will be able to access a Slack-powered community to interact with classmates, and as a final exam they can present what they’ve built in a pseudo Demo Day, Venture Beat reports. Some of the guest lecturers will include WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum, Quora CEO Adam D’Angelo, and Facebook vice president of growth Alex Schultz. But aside from lectures from Stanford University, the school will allow students to receive advice from the incubator and the course’s lecturers; giving feedback to participants on their startups during online sessions.

The Startup School is accepting applications online until March 27th, here.
