BREAKING: Egypt Court Repeals One of Morsi's Life Sentences

Egypt's Court of Cassation overturned one of two life sentences against ousted Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi on Tuesday, reports Al Arabiya. The initial sentence was handed down to him when a court found him guilty of spying for Palestinian militant group Hamas.

The ruling also repeals the initial life sentences meted down to several other members of the Muslim Brotherhood who were tried alongside him on charges of spying for Palestinian militant group Hamas and Iran and were found guilty.

The court is set to review Morsi's other life sentence, which followed his conviction of wrongfully acquiring classified national security documents and sharing them with Qatar, on November 27th.

The Court of Cassation had overturned a death sentence against Morsi earlier this week, after he was convicted of participating in a mass prison break during the 2011 uprising.
