Egypt to Hike Entry Visa Price

Tourism Minister Hesham Zazou has approved a $10 increase on tourist visas.

Tourism used to be one of the main drivers in Egypt's economy. Obviously that was then and this is now, what happened in between should be self explanatory for anyone living in Egypt. Struggling to find a solution Egypt's government has decided that the best way to move forward is to raise the tourist Visa fees from US$15 to US$25 on May 1st. We're not exactly sure how this will help bring back tourists, but according to tourism minister Hesham Zazou the 'slight' increase is not expected to affect the current flow of tourists to the country, which is pretty dismal considering the current state of the nation.

Obviously, tourists travelling to Egypt will be able to afford the extra US$10, the price increase isn't likely going to be the reason potential tourists stay away from Egypt, but rather the ongoing political instability and bombing tourists will.
