Battle of the Bands to Announce 16 Finalists in Qaitbay Citadel with Sharmoofers

Egypt’s musical landscape is about to get a heck of a lot more colourful as the people who brought us Battle of the Burgers – Kult Egypt – have been on a massive search to find new musical talents to compete in an epic Battle of the Bands.  

Looking to crown the winner as Egypt’s greatest band ever, Kult has been travelling across Oum El Donia in their Freedom Music Truck (a complete pro-level studio in a van), searching for the musical talents and charisma that will become the new wave of masry rockstars. Working with the Ministry of Tourism, the people at Kult have organised the biggest competition ever held in Egypt to support local talents, while joining the #ThisisEgypt campaign.

Those bidding to become Egypt’s next musical idols are asked to simply submit a one-minute audition showcasing their talent. Afterwards, a panel of carefully selected judges representing key players in the industry will select their 16 favourite bands to face off in a winner-take-all battle.

As it stands, the plan to announce the 16 talented bands that will go to battle will take place at the iconic Qaitbay Citadel. Tickets are set at 75 LE and available in outlets scattered across Egypt; plus, making more than just an appearance at this massive happening is none other than Egypt’s beloved Sharmoofers, who will put on a dynamic and unforgettable performance that will set the bar to beat for those looking for musical supremacy in Oum El Donia.
