Egypt Drops Down Four Ranks in UNDP's Human Development Index

The 2018 Human Development Index (HDI) – an annual report conducted by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) – shows that Egypt has dropped down four ranks, taking us from 115^th place in 2017 to 111^th place.

The assessment of countries within this index takes into account three dimensions: how decent the standard of living is, the average life expectancy at birth, and the educational standards and expected number of years put to education.

Concerning the 22 Arab nations in the HDI, Egypt ranked 11^th place, putting us smack in the middle.

The top five on the list in the HDI is reserved for Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Ireland, and Germany.
