Egyptian Triathlon Team Earns First Place in Germany's Triclub Ironman Competition

Egyptian training academy 'Velocity Triathlon' received the first-place prize in the Triclub Ironman Competition in Ruegen, Germany. The triathlon competition was a part of the Strandräuber IRONMAN 70.3 Ruegen event.

Velocity Triathlon, comprised of six Egyptian women and 13 Egyptian men, participated in three sets of sports: swimming (1.9 km), cycling (90 km) and running (21.1 km).

“As a team, we showed sportman ship and group work which placed the Egyptian flag in first place,” Maged Mansi, a participant at the races said in a statement.

The team did not consist of only professionals, but some beginners too – showing that willpower can go a long way. “Coming out of pregnancy with increased weight and a loss of fitness was my toughest challenge,” Alaa Elsheikh said.

Velocity Triathlon is a triathlon training academy based in Alexandria, Egypt. They train beginner athletes and prep them to compete in triathlon events within and outside of Egypt. Since their launch in 2014, Velocity Triathlon has succeeded in training over 150 people into becoming fitter athletes.
