Flappy Bird addicts are getting into a flap, after more than a million EGP was spent globally to play the irritatingly addictive waste of time. The game's developer Dong Nguyen decided to pull the highly successful game off the app market for reasons unknown. On Saturday he tweeted: “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore. It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore. I also don’t sell ‘Flappy Bird’, please don’t ask. And I still make games.”

The news caused uproar among the game's estimated 50 million users and has sent phone prices spiralling to ridiculous levels with some eBay vendors flogging devices with the game pre-loaded for more than $80,000 or a cool half a million Egyptian pounds.
