Hend Sabry Gives Back... And So Should You

The talented actress has just launched a donation campaign alongside the World Food Program to collect as much money as possible to feed the hungry - and whoever makes the biggest donation could walk away with a piece of cinematic history...

Hend Sabry, the Tunisian actress who’s all but been given honourary Egyptian nationality after winning our hearts over in a slew of brilliant rolls, has also been an Ambassador Against Hunger for the UN World Food Programme since 2009. This week, she launched a campaign that will help raise money to help feed the poor and needy in the region, and sadly we know that makes a big number, given all the political and economic turmoil of late. All you need to do to take part log on this site https://give.wfp.org/ and donate any amount you can and tell your networks to do the same.

Sabry says that “the idea of the challenge is quite simply to spread awareness on the issue of hunger. I want to tell my fans that each and every single one of us can make a difference, but it starts by giving something that is close to your heart for the better good.” And so, the person with the biggest donation receives a customised Bedouin galabeya that she wore in the award-winning El Gezira movie.  She also challenged actor Ahmed El Sakka, her co-star from the same movie, to do the same, as she believes that if more actors do this, it will greatly help this campaign spread.
