In an attempt to promote meaningful and equitable employment of people living with disabilities, Jobzella is hosting the third annual employment fair for people with special needs, in partnership with the Professional Development Foundation (PDF) and the Himmetna campaign.

The past 2 events were met with great acceptance and success. From offering around 3,000 opportunities in 2016, to 10,000 in 2017, this year will be nothing but an upgrade for both employees and employers.

The #Ne2dar campaign is an attempt to portray hiring workers with disabilities in various fields as a positive impact on the bottom line of any company.

Representing an overlooked labor pool, people with special needs already know they are a minority, making them work ten times harder. Statistics show that they are more likely to stay on the job, presenting them as a great source of talent and innovation.

According to the World Health Organization, people with special needs represent 10% of the Egyptian population. That’s 8.5 million individuals that are being neglected by companies.

The government policy for employing disabled Egyptians is based on a quota system (5%) for companies with more than 50 employees. However, this quota is not being implemented properly and those who do implement it will often employ a few, and rarely will any proactively hire them. The approach to the issue by non-profit organizations is also met with a charity-like action rather than one of integration and employment.

But in the past two years – with special thanks to Jobzella – an innovation for change has been reinforced in the Egyptian workforce.

The event will be, kicking off at 11 AM and running through until 6 PM on Saturday the 14th of April
