King Saud University Achieves World Record for Largest Dental Hospital

King Saud University’s dental hospital has entered into the Guinness Book of World Records, being the largest of its kind in the world.

Stretching over 37,000 square metres, the dental hospital is part of the University’s Medical City, which provides top-level care for patients whilst also training and educating the next generation of local and regional doctors. The hospital is spread over three training centres for university students, as well as multiple areas dedicated to different specialties, such as cleft lip and palate clinics, dentistry for patients with special needs and autism, and orofacial pain clinics.

“We have taken the lead in achieving many awards in the medical and research fields,” says Dr. Ahmed Al Harsi, Executive General Director of the University Medical City. Only last year the Medical City was awarded 64th place on a list of the world’s most prominent hospitals, far ahead of some of the oldest and most prestigious international medical centres.
