President Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi received an an official invitation from the American President Donald Trump to visit the US. Leaks from the Presidency confirmed that preparations for El-Sisi's departure have begun, state-owned Akhbar El-Youm reports, quoting anonymous government officials.

Sisi's state visit will last four days starting on April 1st, and comes as the first by an Arab head of state to the US during Trump's presidency since his inauguration last January. The presidents will focus on vital discussions about the current state of the Middle East and renewing commitment to stronger relations.  Ending bloody conflicts in Yemen, Libya, Iraq and Yemen will be at the top of the agenda, according to Akhbar El Youm.

US-Egyptian relations deteriorated during the last two and a half years of Obama's administration, which has never extended an invitation to El-Sisi.
