Three's a Charm at Cairo Jazz Club

Three feisty females make up one of the most interesting musical line ups in Cairo next week when Nadah El Shazly, Aya Metwalli and Cheen all play back-to-back at CJC.

Three's a Charm at Cairo Jazz Club

It’s a full house at Cairo Jazz Club on Tuesday, April 21st: not one, not two, but three top acts. Get ready for Nadah El Shazly, Aya Metwalli and Cheen on one epic night dedicated to highlighting some of Cairo's best emerging alternative acts.

Starting the night off right, Nadah El Shazly will waste no time with her Arabic vocals and experimental beats to get you in high spirits. With a unique combination of traditional and electronic, El Shazly is the perfect initiator of a night of true local flavours.

Taking the mic from El Shazly, songstress Aya Metwalli will take centre stage. Wowing people all over the city on a regular basis, it is finally Cairo Jazz Club’s turn again to get hypnotized by Metwalli’s electronic non-uniform sonic exploration, blanketed in vocal melancholy.

Last but not least, Cheen is back in the spotlight. Formally known as the group around singer Cherine Amr, the Egyptian ensemble brings you Indie Pop made in Egypt. Cherine Amr’s skilled voice goes from rocky to poppy when Cheen’s band is slappin da bass for you to forget about daytime troubles and rock the night away instead.

Quite visibly, there is more than one reason (in fact, more than two) to head to Jazz Club for Tuesday Night: performers and sounds so diverse that everyone will find their niche, or sound or beat.
