Up on Cloud Eleven

When it comes to falling in love with a person, you find yourself unintentionally climbing up to cloud number nine. But what if you fall in love with fine company, great music and a breathtaking view? We suggest you skip number nine and go straight up to Cloud Eleven.

Known for finding one-off places and turning them to must-go destinations, since Summer Moon in Agamy back in 1999, the one and only Amr Hosny knows a thing or two (or a million) about partying and nightlife. The superstar DJ has taken 13 years of management and music experience and teamed up with the Kempinski Nile Hotel to create a one-of-a-kind hotspot, high above the city. “People are always looking for something different; Cloud Eleven is just that!” says the Godfather of Egyptian DJs himself. Launching tomorrow (14th May) with a swanky private party, we’re looking forward to heading up to the roof of the Nile-side hotel to find out what happens when you raise utter indulgence by two whole clouds. We hear that Hosny was inspired by Ibiza, but also that’s Cloud Eleven will be more of relaxing, lounge-type spot and the potential combination of both concepts has us pretty excited. A relatively small venue – with a maximum capacity of around 150 – you’ll have to be in the know to be on the list. “You can only get access through a personal invitation to the Cloud Eleven group,” says Hosny, pretty mysteriously. Open four days a week, from Tuesday to Friday, the new, exclusive hotspot is pretty mysterious too. Is it a club? Is it a lounge? Is it bar? Maybe it’s just a literal cloud? You’ll never know until you have the privilege of being welcomed in and taken high enough to enjoy the haze…
