This Turkish Jewellery Brand Has Released a New Collection and Egypt Can’t get Enough of It

If you're not aware of Turkish jewellery brand, Mer"s (yes, with a double quotation mark), then you better get acquainted. The Turkey-based high-end jewellery brand came to Egypt two years ago, selling 925 gold plated jewellery encrusted in semi-precious stones. Yeah, fancy. Turkish precious metal aficionado Nermine Ayash brought the franchise from Istanbul, and it doesn’t take much to realise that business is doing pretty well, with countless “How much plzzzz?” comments on most of the products she posts on her Instagram page. As she says it herself, business is “booming."

“Jewellery is like the perfect spice for women, especially Egyptian woman - they’re crazy about jewellery," she told us in the wake of the launch of her new fall/winter collection. “We are always unique, always tuned in to the new fashions and trends. That’s really how we think when working on a new collection. Mer’’s is now becoming more successful thanks to our statement pieces which have really been a stand-out. Right now for this collection we have lion shapes, coins, and chains which are trendy this season”.

Thanks to the elegant simplicity of Mer''s pieces, the majority of the pieces work for either formal or casual outfits. You can wear them daily, just like you can wear them when you’re meeting your boyfriend’s parents for the first time to try to act like you’re elegant. What? Come on, we've all been there.
