Now if you’re anything like us, your first thought upon reading this headline was probably something akin to ‘What the actual ****?’ and you see, we absolutely do not blame you. But we’re here to offer a - sort of - comforting detail, it’s not actually Ta’ameyya flavoured.

B Laban, the now-iconic local dessert shop, appears to have no shortage of creativity when it comes to serving up their signature ice creams and sweets. While their ‘sweet koshary’ was a fun lil innocent twist, it seems B Laban is determined to go viral on a monthly basis with new menu additions…and they’re winning.

Serving up pistachio ice-cream in the form of a classic Egyptian Ta’ameyya, the saccharine purveyors at B Laban scoop up a generous chunk of ice cream, roll it around like Ta’ameyya dough, dip it in…well, something green, coat it in biscuit crumbs, top it off with some white sprinkles, and serve (in more ways than one).

I, your resident SceneEats writer, am personally at a loss; and while I find myself absolutely mortified at what my poor innocent Ta’ameyya loving eyes are gazing at, I cannot help but applaud the mastermind who came up with this. This is truly the brainchild of a one-in-a-generation talent.

We may not know what they’re smoking down at B Laban, but it certainly does appear they have a certain affinity for the colour green…
