As winter bids us a long overdue farewell and the eclectic colours of spring and summer begin to find their way back into our lives, our wardrobes too will be undergoing their yearly seasonal transition - plus, it gives us an excuse to do some shopping, too, and we needn't look further than Ted Baker. The UK brand finds the inspiration for it’s latest collection, Spring Summer 2018, in a medley of spring and summer colours that liven up our summer vogue and put a spring in our step.

The women’s collection, dubbed In The Palace Gardens, features feminine floral patterns of rhubarb pink, mint green, imperial yellow and tonnes of teal and antique gold. The collection finds its main muse in the regality of British royalty. So, perhaps it's time for a revamp? Everyone knows that the first step to reinventing oneself starts in the wardrobe. But what really elevates what at first sight seem to be simple pieces is the detail. From intricate ruffles on the sleeves to full skirts and embroidered prints,  SS18's collection is all about the ornate flowers, pearls, cuffs and collars for those who want to make a statement and announce summer's much anticipated arrival.

The collection even includes women's footwear for every occasion, which come in a couple of styles. The Langley heels – star of the show - are intricately embroidered and feature dramatic bows while the Tie the Knot goes for a more dramatic look with hand selected satin designs, mirrored metallics and embellishments that could suit a wedding or a fittingly high-end kind of party.

The SS18 includes menswear, too. Borrowing trends from the 50s, this season's Egyptian gentleman will be seen sporting polos of peach shades, stripes and nautical navy, while Ted Baker's reinvented bomber jackets look like it could be a huge trend.
