Facebook Announces Dislikes Are Coming

In an anticipated question-answer session at Facebook HQ, Mark Zuckberberg announced that a 'dislike' button is in the works.

At some point of time we have all read a post on Facebook that we didn’t like, but were left with no button to press to express that sentiment. Finally heeding the calls of thousands of users all over the world, Facebook has announced they will introduce a 'dislike' button.

Nowadays social media users upset by post would have to take the time to express their dislike using words in a comment. In the world where words are dying, users have complained that they have no time to think about why they didn’t like something, and would rather a button to quickly show their disappointment.

Making dreams come true for haters of the world, Mark Zuckerberg announced in question-and-answer session held at Facebook Headquarters, that they were “very close” to having it ready for user testing. During the session, Zuckerberg mentioned that “probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it.” Zuckerberg's long time apprehension of introducing such a button was the worry that it may become a function for people to ‘down vote’ other posts.
