A new archival feature from Google takes satellite photos and stores them, curating the best of the best as seen from above. Mother Earth has a tendency to look really stunning from far away. 1,500 especially selected photos appeared on google's Earth View with free downloads. Here are some of my favourites.

 Calabasas,USA

Calabasas (Spanish for "Pumpkins") is a city in Los Angeles County, California located in the hills west of the San Fernando Valley and in the northwest Santa Monica Mountains between Woodland Hills, Agoura Hills, West Hills, Hidden Hills, and Malibu, California. Also know for its residential, suburban life and the Kardashians.

 Amposta, Spain

Amposta is the capital of the comarca of Montsià, in the province of Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. One hundred kilometres south of Barcelona, on the Mediterranean, Amposta is known for its green hills.

Ennedi, Chad 

 lLcated in the North-East of Chad is a sandstone bulwark in the middle of the Sahara. It is assailed by the sands on all sides, that encroach the deep valleys of the Ennedi. Only camels can be ridden on this tough, dry terrain.

 Petermann Ranges, Australia

A mountain range in central Australia, these stunning scenes run 320 kilometres across the border between Western Australia and the southwest corner of the Northern Territory. Their highest point is 1,158 metres (3,799 ft) above sea level.

 Chicago, USA

No introduction needed on this one, The Windy City aka Chicago, is one of the largest cities in the US that combines stunning architecture and sea views.
