Biggest Hotel Ever Set to Open in Mecca

The holy city of Mecca has been a huge destination for countless persons on a pilgrimage, business travelers and everything in between. Because of its significance you can see exponential growth within the city every year, from restaurants to hotels to malls.

Well, this time someone decided to draw up a scheme for a new hotel. A really…really big one. It would be the biggest one on the planet, actually. Set to open up in 2017, this 45-storey hotel (you might as well just call it a city) is set to dazzle with 10,000 bedrooms and 70 restaurants, four helipads on the roof and of course the top five floors reserved for none other than the Saudi royal family.

Dubbed Abraj Kudai, the breathtaking hotel is set to be located in the Manafia district just a mile south of the Grand Mosque and will set the Saudi Ministry of Finance back a cool $3.6 billion. Rising 600m into the sky and with a a perfect view of the Kaaba, this development is set to be a tourist site in its own right.
