Easter Guide 2016

A four-day weekend absolutely cannot be spent sitting at home, can it? Get out! Egypt's got plenty to be done.

Staff Writer

Being given a four-day weekend for us adults illicits the same feelings as it would a child waking up early on Christmas morning and rushing down the stairs to the sight of all their gifts under the Christmas tree. We know it's Easter, but there's no such thing as an Easter tree so the simile wouldn't quite work. Anyway, we're ecstatic for a chance to take a break and breathe in the fresh spring air - that means we'll have to do things other than stay in bed all weekend, though. Good thing we've got plenty of options; our standards are pretty high when it comes to things better than staying in bed.

Cairo

Cairo Jazz Club

Party each day of the long weekend? Hell yeah! Friday: DJ. Miesh. Saturday: Basheer. Sunday: Michelle Rounds. Monday: DJ Junior. Weekend: made.

Spring Concert Mohamed Mounir @ Smart Village

It's the king, Mohamed Mounir. Need we say more? He'll be performing Monday night. To cut to the chase, get your tickets now here for 120 LE Standing Zone or 200 LE VIP Zone.

Put yourself in a total state of Trance with A & Z, Fad & Mina, Hazem Beltagui, and Tamer Hossam, for a night of Trance devotion this Easter weekend. Early bird tickets are 250 LE, pre-sale are 300 LE, and VIP are 500 LE. For further info and reservations, message the Egypt Trance Family on their Facebook page here.

Easter @ Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski

We'd usually be spending Easter colouring eggs and chasing around bunnies, but it's now a perfect time for a party binge, and Royal Maxim Kempinski are treating us to a good dose. They've put together a rad three day Easter celeb with DJAD from Beirut, DJ Mari Ferrari and renowned producer DJ Ivan Spell from Russia, Italian JazzyFunk, and for the first time in Egypt The Secret Garden, along with a lot more surprises to come.

Easter Extravaganza @ Cavallini

Have a fery lofely night with Fery, Philip Loupa, Peto, and belly dancer Magda putting that cherry on top of an awesome weekend for an Easter Extravaganza at Cavallini.

The Art Of Easter @ City Center

The arts of Easter are not simply to go on an egg hunt with a chocolate bunny, for it has to involve a farther journey. The moon, you ask? Think bigger. If you're one of the lucky ones, you, along with three other cool people, would be snatching up a trip to Gouna! We can totally keep you company if you're searching for +1s.

Easter @ The Courtyard

Roses are red, violets are blue. Eggs are white, but coloured by you! Easter has come around to let your inner Picasso loose for weeks of bungee trampoline, face painting, silly snaps, jewellery making, air hockey, and - you guessed it - egg basket colouring! Just don't actually eat the colours, although we're sure they look quite tempting.

InterContinental CityStars Hotel

Easter is a feast-er at Fayruz with a live band, an exotic belly dancer, and kids activities! The DJ will be spinning some cool tunes while you get some signature Easter stuff to munch on. For further info and reservations, call +(202) 24800009.
